Summary
We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee for first-time paid subscribers. After 14 days, refunds are issued only in cases of verified service issues. The free Core plan never requires payment and therefore never requires a refund.
1. Free Core plan
The Core plan is free forever and never requires payment. No refund is applicable. You may stop using the service at any time without notice or fee.
2. Paid subscriptions (Starter, Business, Enterprise)
14-day money-back guarantee (first-time only)
If you subscribe to a paid plan for the first time and are not satisfied within 14 days of the initial charge, we will refund the full amount on request — no questions asked. This applies to the first paid subscription only; subsequent renewals or upgrades are not eligible for the 14-day guarantee.
After 14 days
After the 14-day window, refunds are issued only in the following cases:
- Verified service downtime exceeding 24 consecutive hours within a single billing cycle: pro-rata credit on the next invoice (or refund equivalent if requested).
- Documented data loss caused by FreeMaint infrastructure (excluding user-initiated deletions or imports).
- Billing errors (duplicate charges, incorrect amount): full refund of the disputed amount.
No refund is issued for partial-month usage when you cancel mid-cycle. You retain access until the end of the paid period.
3. On-Premise licenses ($200/mo or $2000/yr)
Before installation
If you have not yet downloaded or installed the on-premise package and the license file has not been emitted to your server fingerprint, you may request a full refund within 14 days of purchase.
After installation
Once the license file has been generated and bound to your server fingerprint (hostname, MAC address, machine ID), the license is considered consumed. No refund is issued, but you may cancel the subscription at any time — the license will continue to function until the end of the paid period, then expire.
For annual on-premise subscriptions canceled mid-term, a pro-rata refund may be granted at our discretion based on remaining unused months and the reason for cancellation. Contact us in writing to request.
4. Auto-renewal
All paid subscriptions renew automatically. To stop a renewal, cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date via your account settings or by contacting us. We do not refund renewal charges that occur because cancellation was requested late, except in cases of demonstrated technical fault on our side preventing timely cancellation.
5. How to request a refund
- Email contact@freemaint.com with the subject line "Refund Request".
- Include your account email, the subscription ID (visible in your billing email), the date of the charge, and a brief reason.
- We respond within 3 business days. If approved, the refund is processed within 5 to 10 business days to the original payment method (the exact timing depends on the payment processor and your bank).
6. Disputes and chargebacks
We prefer customers reach out to us directly before initiating a chargeback with their bank or card issuer. Chargebacks initiated without prior contact may result in account suspension and a chargeback fee passed through from our payment processor. We will work in good faith to resolve any billing concern.
7. Special cases
Founding Partner pricing: Founding Partner pricing (locked discounted rate guaranteed for the duration of the active subscription) is non-refundable beyond the standard 14-day guarantee. The locked price is preserved as long as the subscription remains continuously active; cancellation forfeits the Founding Partner status and any future re-subscription will be at the then-current standard price.
Service downtime credit: If service availability falls below 99% within a calendar month due to infrastructure issues on our side (excluding scheduled maintenance announced in advance), eligible paid subscribers may request a pro-rata service credit applied to the next invoice. Contact us with the affected period and we will verify against our monitoring logs.
