Bulk PM Plans

Apply one routine to many machines at once

5 min read

When you manage a large fleet, you don't have to create one preventive maintenance plan per machine by hand. FreeMaint gives you three fast ways to cover many pieces of equipment at once.

One plan covering several machines

The equipment field on the New PM form is a multi-select: pick several assets and a single plan covers them all, generating one work order per machine each cycle. When you select more than one, you also choose how the plan is created:

  • One shared plan for all (recommended) โ€” a single schedule you edit once, and the change applies to every machine.
  • One independent plan per equipment โ€” each machine gets its own plan you can fine-tune separately afterwards.

Create a plan from the Assets list

  1. Open the Assets list
  2. Use the "Without PM plan" filter to find equipment that has no preventive plan yet
  3. Tick the checkboxes of the machines you want to cover
  4. Click "Create PM" โ€” the New PM form opens with those assets pre-filled
  5. Set the frequency and tasks, then save

Import many plans from a spreadsheet

  1. Open Preventive Maintenance and click Import (top right)
  2. Download the CSV or Excel template
  3. Fill one row per plan (name, asset, frequency, and so on)
  4. Upload the file and review the validation summary
  5. Confirm to create all plans at once

Tip

Start with your most critical equipment โ€” the machines whose failure stops production โ€” then widen coverage from there.
