FreeMaint Academy is a free learning site on maintenance management. Its lessons are public: anyone can read them, with or without a FreeMaint account. The first course, “Implementing a CMMS”, has 10 short lessons and is available in English, French and Spanish.

Where to find it

  • On the website: Resources › Academy (freemaint.com/academy, /fr/academie, /es/academia)
  • In FreeMaint: the FreeMaint Academy card on the Help page, and the help menu (?)
  • In the mobile app: Settings › Support › FreeMaint Academy
  • Ask FreeMee, the in-app assistant: it points you to the course

How a course works

  1. Read the lessons in any order. Each one ends with practice questions and a downloadable template.
  2. When you are signed in, your progress is saved: the lessons you have read are ticked, and the “Continue your course” banner on your dashboard takes you to the next one.
  3. When you are ready, open the final exam and choose “Start the exam”: 20 questions drawn from a bank, 30 minutes, 80 % to pass. You first confirm the name to print on your certificate.
  4. Not passed? You can try again after 24 hours, as many times as you need.

Your Certificate of Achievement

When you pass, you receive a Certificate of Achievement as a PDF, by e-mail and in your account. It shows your name, the course, its version, the date and an identifier — not your score. Anyone can check it on its public verification page, and you can add it to your LinkedIn profile. It does not expire.

Hands-on practice in your own workspace

Lessons 5, 7 and 8 include exercises you do in your own FreeMaint workspace. Choose “Check my exercise” on the lesson: FreeMaint looks for records you created yourself — example data never counts. Complete all four and your certificate says “With hands-on practice”; if you have already passed, it is replaced by a new one and the old link keeps working.

  • Create a location
  • Register three assets
  • Complete a work order
  • Create an active preventive maintenance plan
  • Bonus (lesson 9): invite a colleague

Your certificates in FreeMaint

Profile › Qualifications & Certificates › My certificates lists your certificates with the PDF, the verification page and LinkedIn. “Add to my qualifications” records one in your company's qualifications register, where the people who manage qualifications can see it (Starter plan and above).

Tip

Courses are available in English, French and Spanish. In other languages, the academy opens in English.
